Advertiser Info

Thanks for your interest in advertising on Model Railroad Tips! Your ads help to support the database of articles, and promote future growth! What follows are the ad sizes, and locations, plus terms and cost.

To advertise, please contact admin@modelrailroadtips.com. Payment by Paypal, Money Order, or Official Check accepted.

300 x 100 page top 3:1 rectangle ad. $5 per month.
This ad space is our "premium sponsor" slot. We're starting out by offering this space for $5/month. The main ad will show up on every page of the website. Included in this package is an article section sponsor, shown below, and a chat room sponsor logo. Buy now to lock in the $5 price before it goes up!

125 x 125 featured articles topper square button ad. $5 per month.
This ad space is another "premium space", placing your ad in the left menu bar above the navigation menu, or right menu bar above the featured articles. We're starting by offering this space for $5/month. The ad will show up on every page of the website.

600 x 200 section sponsors. $3 per month.
This ad space is exclusive to the section chosen. Sections available are the Forums, Links, and Downloads. $3 a month buys you one section, and you can have up to a 600 x 200 pixel sized ad, half sizes of 300 x 200, and 600 x 100, plus quarter size 300 x 100 also available in the same spot. Your choice.

120 x 240 vertical banner ad. $2 per month.
This ad space is in the Advertisers section in the right menu bar. The ad section is placed at the bottom of the menu. This ad costs $2 per month. It will show up on every page of the website.

468 x 60 banner ad. $2 per month.
This ad space is in the Sponsors & Links section at the bottom center of the page. This ad costs $2 per month. It will show up on every page of the website.

120 x 90 or 120 x 60 button ad. $1 per month.
This space is for the Advertisers section in the left menu bar. The ad section is placed at the bottom of the menu. This ad costs you a whopping $1 per month. It will show up on every page of the website.

Text or rotating banner ads. $4 per 6 months.
This ad space is the Advertisements section at the bottom of the page. One ad is shown on a page load basis. Each time a page is loaded an ad is shown at random, and will remain until a new page is loaded by the viewer. You can choose to use text based ads, 468 x 60 full banners, 234 x 60 half banners, or any ad size that remains within 500 x 250 pixels. It will cost $4 for 6 months. It has the possibility of showing up on any page of the website at random upon page load.

Article section sponsor. $2.50 per month.
This ad space includes "naming" rights over an article section that you desire (unless taken). The section will be renamed, beginning with it's original name, and adding Sponsored by: Ect.
Let's take the Beginner's section for example, and say my custom painting service is sponsoring it. It would be named:
Paint & Weathering
SPONSORED BY:
Blockchoice.com Custom Painting Services
Now, that seems plain. You'll also get the option to include a 120 x 60 button which will be inserted into the title, and be incorporated into a new logo for the section. Your 120 x 60 button will be turned into a 120 x 90, with the bottom 30 pixels containing the article section's original name.
We're starting by offering this for $2.50/month. Your ad will show up in the articles section, and at the top of every article in that section, PLUS if an article in your section is highlighted, it'll show up in the featured articles section in the right menu bar, on every page.

Chat Room sponsor. $1.00 per month
This ad space allows you to place a 234 x 60 half banner, as the chat room logo, for a single chat room. This logo does remain un-clickable, though is a good way to get your name out there. A welcome message to users will include a link to your website.

Chat room sponsor + Chat background image ad. $2.00 per month
This ad space allows you to place a 234 x 60 half banner, as the chat room logo, for a single chat room. This logo does remain un-clickable, though is a good way to get your name out there. A welcome message to users will include a link to your website. In addition, you'll get the option to develop a background image ad. This background image will show up behind the chat window, and can be used to showcase a product (or multiple products!).

Newsletter Sponsor, $1.00 per month.
The newsletter is issued monthly, by email, to subscribed members. Place a 468x60 banner, or 234x60 half banner in the newsletter for only $1 per month. OR, send in products for use/review in the newsletter to gain free ads for a year!

Terms & Conditions:

All ads are subject to approval. Ads will not be accepted if deemed to not be in the interest of the website.
All placement ads will be linked to the advertisers website of choice. Advertisers will be highlighted in our Advertiser Profiles page. Article section sponsors will be linked here, as well as all additional advertisers. The profile is a short, one to two paragraph description of the advertiser.
Ads cannot link to adult content or any other illegal activity. Advertisers found to be in violation will have their link blocked, and will receive a warning. If an advertiser becomes a repeat violator, their ad will be removed permanently.

Ad space is non-refundable, and will be billed on a prepay basis. Ads will display only after paid for. Canceled advertising will run until prepaid term expires.

Payment may be made by Paypal, Money Order, or Check. Billing cycles begin the 1st of every month. Renewal notices will be sent on or about the 15th of the month. Advertisers who have not paid by the 3rd, will be notified of a past-due bill, and have their ad pulled until payment is made. There are no late fees for past due bills at this time.

Click counting is handled by a 3rd party. Model Railroad Tips currently uses ClickMeter. We will provide, at request, a copy of our tracking report from ClickMeter.

Premium space (page top, featured article topper, section sponsoring) is on a first-come, first-serve basis, however if demand is high enough, I will ad a page-load rotation system, similar to the advertisers system at the bottom of the page.

By advertising on Model Railroad Tips, you agree to these terms & conditions. All are subject to change without notice, however I'll try my best to inform any current advertisers of a change. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Discounts are available! Buy multiple locations and receive a 25% discount. Prepay for 3 months, save 10%. Prepay for 6 months, and save 16%. Prepay for a year, and save 27%.

*All prices and information current as of October 5th 2011.
